Rebirth of a legend: The story of the renovation of the Porsche 356 SC to the status of a new car

Stage 1: Status of Findings — Dust and Forgotten Glory

It all started in a dusty garage, where we discovered the torso of the car that once defined sporty elegance. At first glance, the Porsche 356 SC was in a state of disrepair. The body bore traces of unprofessional repairs and corrosion, the interior was practically non-existent, and the engine had not been running for decades. For someone a scrap heap, for us a clean canvas and an opportunity to give back a piece of history to the world.

Stage 2: To the last screw

Renovation in our submission means absolute disassembly. Each volume has been catalogued. The bodywork was stripped of old paint by gentle sandblasting to reveal the true extent of the damage. Hundreds of hours of plumbing followed, during which we used traditional methods to restore the steel to its original shapes.

The key moment was the work of our 30 mechanics on the engine and gearbox. The goal was to achieve “Matching Numbers” status—that is, the preservation of the original aggregates, which had undergone a complete refurbishment using original period components.

Stage 3: Interior and final details

The smell of leather and precise stitches. The interior has been resurrected to Porsche's original specifications. From the color of the upholstery to the structure of the dashboard and the functionality of each alarm clock. It is these details that distinguish an average renovation from a high-end one.

Stage 4: Official Confirmation — Classic Data “Note 1"

The highlight of the whole process was not only the first engine start, but an independent expert opinion from a reputable company Datos classicas. The commissioners subjected the car to strict scrutiny on all aspects — from the quality of the paintwork to the fit of the panels to the technical conformity with the original.

The result? Grade 1. This assessment confirms that the car is in impeccable condition, which is technically and aesthetically equivalent to the condition of a new car that had just left the production line in 1964.

Why does it matter?

The investment potential of the car in this condition is in a completely different category than that of commonly maintained pieces. Thus, the owner received not just a wonderful car for weekend rides, but, above all, a highly liquid asset, the quality of which is confirmed by an internationally recognized certificate.

This renovation is proof of our know-how: By having everything under one roof, we can guarantee a quality that will stand up to even the most rigorous experts.
